OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting) Internship terms begin in September, January, March and June. Positions available include:
Graphics Work with an energetic creative team to conceive, design, and create graphics to support radio programs, TV programs, web and other institutional needs. The intern should have a strong knowledge of design and production processes, typography, and proficiency with MAC software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
News website interns should possess experience with daily deadlines either in broadcast, online or print publications. Knowledge of AP style a plus. Interns may need some basic HTML skills and be comfortable in breaking news situations.
Web Development Interns will assist with developing and maintaining web applications and supporting system and data administration. Preferred skills include knowledge of linux shells, ssh/sftp, databases (mysql, postgresql, or NoSQL), HTML, CSS, Javascript, and scripting languages such as PHP, python, or ruby.
Applicants should apply by the 1st of the month prior to the term start date. Applications must arrive by Aug. 1st, Dec. 1st, Feb. 1st, May 1st.
Hours: The intern must be available for a minimum of 12 hours per week to participate in the internship program. A time commitment of at least 20 hours per week results in the most effective internship; however, needs may vary by department.
