Job Title: Technical Communications Advisor; Location: Vancouver, WA. Compensation: $36-$38K/yr
Position Overview: The Technical Communications Advisor will work with the marketing and education departments to maintain the company website, marketing materials, and courseware. Additionally, the position will manage and maintain all documents, educational materials, and templates. The ideal candidate has experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The ideal candidate also has experience writing HTML, CSS, and at least one scripting language.This is a dynamic position that provides communication and print support services for all functional areas within the company. Typical tasks are updating content on the company website, printing books, flowcharts, CDs, and other instructional materials in support of classroom activities. Additional tasks are editing content written by other writers, producing forms, and writing marketing collateral for upcoming events.
Responsibilities: Website• Keep the structure on the web server organized and free of old files. Make sure that structure on the desktop is mirrored to the structure on the web server.• Ensure the consistency of page layouts for ease of maintenance• Add new content as neededStore• Ensure that book covers, class schedules, and pricing are up-to-date• Add new content as neededBooks• Edit content written by other writers• Managing final content and graphics• Manage templates• Build books in FrameMaker by converting content from MS Word to FrameMakerFlyers• Edit content written by other writers• Manage and update flyer templates• Manage final content and graphicsPrinting• Maintain print area, regularly inventory and order printer/print supplies.• Print materials in support of organization’s education efforts - books, book covers, flowcharts, CD labels, and flyers.
