Graphic Design and Marketing Intern:
ADX is seeking an intern with a background in graphic design and interest in business operations to join our team. This intern will work with marketing and administrative staff to plan, promote, and execute membership drives and events. He/she will also offer support in touring the facility and signing up new members, interacting with our digital audience, and researching new avenues for getting the local community excited and involved. This unpaid internship, which will run for 90 days, should qualify for school credit, and requires approx. 15 hours per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficient in graphic design software
• Interest in social media
• Outgoing personality
• Ability to multi-task
• Comfortable taking direction on a project and running with it!
DUTIES:
• Developing graphic design concepts for our special events and promotions (e.g. electronic flyers, posters, etc)
• Basic website entries/maintenance (blog posts, minor changes and additions) • Maintaining active social media platforms
• Mailing list maintenance and expansion
• Assisting with tours/membership inquiries
• Distribution of promotional materials
• Acting as an ambassador of ADX during business hours and special events
• Lending a hand with various other tasks as needed
Shop/Fabrication Intern
ADX is seeking a shop and fabrication intern with a perfect storm of practical and technical skills to learn the ropes of operating a fabrication business. The unpaid internship, which will run for 90 days, must qualify for school credit and requires approx. 15 hours per week. This intern works alongside our staff to complete a diverse range of fabrication projects to enhance the ADX facility and will make sure members are using our shop facilities and tools safely, and help keep the shop space clean and maintained. This role will also include assisting with planning & executing special events when appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Familiar with wood and/or metal fabrication
• Well-versed in shop safety
• Likes to work collaboratively
• Knows how to help people use tools safely
• Knows how to maintain tools
DUTIES:
• Assisting with wide range of fabrication projects
• Staffing and cleaning shop during member hours
• Performing tool maintenance
• Helping develop and operate ADX material and tool store/library
• Helping plan, promote, and execute special events
• Other duties as assigned
