Hi hello!
Our second annual BE HONEST Portfolio Review is just around the corner! Last year was so much fun, and we can't wait to do it again!
This year we teamed up with Designspeaks and they are helping this year's review to be bigger and better! The review is being held at The Cleaners on May 5th and we are inviting a ton of awesome Portland Makers & Designers to take a look at YOUR work! Along with looking and talking about work, we are also hosting what is sure to be a fantastic lecture by the fabulous Jennifer Daniel. We'll also have food & tasty beverages!
Where do you fit in?
Be Honest will feature a student work review. We are looking for students to participate in the review portion of this event. Would you like to share your work and receive feedback from Portland’s finest creatives? Now is your chance!
To participate, students must have at least 5-10 printed pieces of work to share. This is recommended for juniors and seniors in the program, but no student who meets the requirements will be turned away.
How can you participate? What are the requirements?
+ Send us an email ([email protected]). Please give your email the Subject of Be Honest: Showing Work & include your name, email and phone number, and a link to your work in the flickr group: (see below)
+ Post to the FoGD flickr group the 5-10 examples of your work that you will be showing. You must post this work AND email us by April 15.
+ You will need to be at the Ace Hotel on the evening of Thursday, May 5, to help us set up or take down!
+ You will need to be present from 5pm onwards at Be Honest to present your work to a series of randomly assigned creative professionals in a “speed dating” format.
What if I want to participate but I don't want to show my work?
That's totally fine! We will need student volunteers for set-up prior to the event as well as during the event to help out. If you'd like to volunteer, please email us with a subject of Be Honest: Volunteer & include your name, email and phone number, as well as times you're available to help out.
And of course, anyone is invited to attend the Jennifer Daniel lecture, mingle with Portland creatives, and check out great work by awesome PSU Students! Volunteers, participants & reviewers will be admitted for free; everyone else is asked to donate $5 (what a steal!)
