Brian will be skyping in at NOON this tuesday in room 170. Please bring your lunch and some to ask Brian! In the meantime check out some of his work and read his bio!
Brian W. Jones is a designer who left the big city to drink sweet tea and sell pie in rural Alabama. He runs his studio, Welcome™, from a rocking chair on a front porch overlooking the local water tower.
After graduating from VCU and participating in Project M, Brian moved to San Francisco to work with John Bielenberg and co-found Project Maverick—a career acceleration program for entrepreneurial designers. After a year in Cali, he moved to Chicago to work for VSA Partners and barely survived the worst winter of his life. Still searching for the life of idealism inspired by Project M, he left Chi-town and made the pilgrimage to NYC. He landed a freelance gig at a small studio in Chelsea until Bernie Madoff screwed all their clients and he was forced to go rogue and set up his own shop.
Now that he's bucked the trend of big cites, he's focusing on how else to redefine the industry.websites of interest: alwaysfeelwelcome.com, projectmlab.com, pielab.org, nadabike.com
