Good morning all! If you are graduating in 2010 with an Art degree the department has extended an invitation to participate in the department's senior show. This is the first time, that anyone can remember at least, that those of us in the Graphic Design Department have been invited to participate so this is a BIG DEAL. Work will be displayed in the Littman and White Galleries from May 6th through the 27th. Many thanks to the Art Department for letting us take part in this event! Start thinking about what you'd like to submit to the show! This is another amazing opportunity to get your work into the community. Read on for details about making your submission!
~ To qualify, you need to be graduating with an Art Major in 2010 (spring, summer, fall)
~ Only 1 work per person allowed (because of the large number of works expected).
It can be any size, 2-D or 3-D, in any medium (videos welcome, small installations encouraged!). Remember, a work can be made out of multiple parts! Small and medium size works on paper (prints, posters, drawings, paintings on paper, photographs etc.) will/can be displayed under glass in White Gallery (some glass, in various sizes provided; please inquire prior with the gallery for your exact sizes!)
~ Choose your most interesting work! Select your pieces carefully; you want to be well represented! Talk with your professor(s), friend(s), relative(s), for advice and guidance before submitting the work. We reserve the right to reject poor quality work!
~ Deliver the work, ready to be installed (frames, mats, magnets, hanging hooks or whatever it needs to be properly displayed) and/or any special installation instructions for the gallery people. Have ready the following info about the work: your name, the title of the work, the year, the size, the technique and material, value, price (if any). You will need to sign an insurance form at the time of the delivery of the work!
~ Deliver the work(s), concerning all of the above, to Littman Gallery in Smith Center, 2nd floor, anytime from 12 to 4 pm, either on Thursday April 29, Friday, April 30 or Monday, May 3 (please, no exceptions!). Thanks!
