This was a collaboration between Me (Jason) and Ron. The focus of our project was to get the information pertaining to the business side of the food carts located on 10th & Alder. We can say that at the end of this project, we are both very happy with the results.
We started by first creating a list of questions to ask the vendors. We then went to the location and talked with the people. Some of the questions immediately we threw out the window. For example: "How important is it to your business to be environmentally friendly?" Most of them didnt understand what we were asking. It was more important though to have more questions then needed. Once we did that Ron drew a map for visual reference and marked down the style of food.
The next task was for us to come up with 2 different versions of the info graphic. We had both discussed what we liked and where we wanted to go with this project. So over the weekend we cranked out 2 versions, one by Ron and one by me. The first one below is my design and below that is Ron's design.
The next time we got together we decided to go with Ron's design because it had a better flow and was easier to read. So we started figuring out how to merge the two since both had elements that we liked. This collaboration went very smoothly. We both worked out the layout and came up with ideas for the icons. The hardest part about the design was finding the right title, which by the way, fits quite nicely. What we came up with in the end was a design that is very simplified. It has a good flow, its colorful, its easy to read, and it has some fun little icons to make it interesting. Overall, a fun and engaging project. Below you can few the final in 2 pieces, this way you can see the details better.
